DO, whom I met at the ANA show, asked me if I'd post pictures of my collection of Jewish-themed elongated coins. They're relatively hard to find and I always snatch them up when I find them. Anyway, no point in only one person seeing them, so I thought I'd post a link to the photo-set so that anyone interested might get to see them, too.

PS- Hamner wants to know if you have the complete set of pressings from the Star Trek Experience and if she should get you some in her last trip there before The End.

That would be great, actually, Nick. Yes!

Trek geek ahoy!

Ooh. I think I'd love to beg a set too. I have never been able to go (for all that I got to work on some of the stuff that went into it), and I'm sad it's closing.

scarlettina -- Shea Stadium/the Mets have changed their machine from the penny machine (the ones I gave you last year) to a nickel machine which costs a dollar per squash. I'll look and see if they're different designs -- would you still like a set? It is the last year for Shea, after all.

Absolutely! No question! That would be fabulous. Shall I PayPal you cash for the coins?

Heh -- if you could manage to get oldmangrumpus's friend to get an extra set for you at the Star Trek Experience, let's call it a trade. :)

Oh yeah -- are there any preferences as to the year of the nickel that gets squashed? (Or quarter, if I'm mistaken and it's a quarter smasher.)

I'll likely be doing a game next week. I'll do it then.

The only coins that the years really matter on are pennies. Nickels, dimes, quarters, it's not an issue, but I appreciate the thought! Do you need my address? Shall we take this to e-mail?

Got in touch with the friend directly and asked her myself. Will let you know what she says -- and yay trading! That's the way we real collectors do it. :-)

I try not to think too hard about my pressed-penny collection -- it's one of those things that I indulge when on trips and such, but try to minimize at home, because otherwise I think I would be completely obsessed. But I must admit, you're a bit of a bad influence. ;) Every time you post about them, I want to go get mine out and look them over.

Further, I joined the penny-collector website, and discovered that a local restaurant I've been curious about has a penny press! So I'm, uh, considering dragging the spouse over there... partly for pancakes, but mostly for pennies.

Hee heh heh. First one's free, kid. :-)

Just discovered PennyCollector.com, did you? Great resource. Have you discovered The Elongated Collectors (http://www.tecnews.org) yet? Four newsletters a year plus anywhere from 8-12 free coins, too.

Just call me . . . pusher. ::grin::

I didn't see these ones in your set :

I'd be willing to send you the 2 pennies for your collection if you don't have them. The quarter is one I bought on ebay a few years ago and I'm not willing to part with that. The scan didn't turn out very well because I didn't want to take it out of the holder. The picture is Nebuchanezzar with a crown on his head riding on the back of a lion. One side has Nebuchanezzar spelled out in regular letters and the other side has what I assume are Hebrew letters (if they're not I'd be interested in knowing what they are).

That would be wonderful! Would you like me to send you my trade list? Seems only fair. And what's the best way for me to get you my mailing address?
