The Space Needle Space Race

A month or more ago, I entered the Space Needle Space Race. This morning I received email telling me that I've been chosen as one of 1,000 contestants to enter a video and explain why I should be the one to win the suborbital flight. If I ever wrote or created anything that makes a compelling argument, it'll have to be this thing. Of course, I need to figure out how to make a video, and I need to figure out how to make it compelling, funny, and interesting. And it needs to be submitted by January 15. Anyone local have fierce video and editing skills that can come to my aid?

Things I want to write about when time and focus allow:
-- Seeing "Hugo" and thoughts about Scorsese's identity as a director
-- "The President's Analyst," acquired tastes, and 1960s/1970s flashbacks (yes,
e_bourne,
markbourne shared this flick with me)
-- The possibility of adding another cat to the household
-- To travel or not to travel in 2012
-- The holidays and suddenly having family

Date: Sat, Dec. 10th, 2011 05:12 pm (UTC)(Wow, the number of retroanachronisms in the first three chapters alone is amazing. Three paper newspapers in a small town, tuning in a hand-built black-and-white TV, dancing cigarette packs on a variety show...)

Date: Sat, Dec. 10th, 2011 06:52 pm (UTC)I'd second asking Hank. He has the tools and know how for the project. I can do video on my camera and I'm happy to help but I know nothing about making videos. Heh, look at my "Geoduck Blues" video--no production values.
What a tremendous opportunity Janna. I'm giddy just thinking about it. If you go send me a postcard! :)
Wow!
