the_monkey_king seeks an artist with steampunk chops for illustrations for Kobold Quarterly. Any suggestions for him?

jaylake put me onto the question pondered by astronomers: How will we name all those exoplanets? My ideas: Base the names on planets named in science fiction novels, Star Trek, and classic science fiction films.

twilight2000 alerts us to the fact that Franken's anti-rape amendment may be stripped by senior dem. Oy.

If they name planets the way that biochemists name proteins and genes, they'll be whimsical: Like GunfA (gene of unknown function A).

I imagine names like BBP (Big, blue planet): pronounced 'Bebop.'

Or Frk (first known in brand new solar system: pronounced 'Frank Burns.'
