.. a blackout! It's been one helluva 24 hour period. Over the last 24 hours, Seattle's had more rain than in any single day since the 1890s. And just five minutes ago, my lights went out. The only reason I'm still on line is that I'm on my laptop unplugged. From my kitchen window, I can see that the entire neighborhood, from here to way across the ship canal, is dark. It's a dark day in Seattle, with heavy overcast and the rain continuing, so I'm sitting here with all the shades up and candles--yes, it's that dark--illuminating the room.

Can't say life is boring!

Electricity back as of 11:54 AM. Power is a fine thing indeed!

This morning during the black out, I curled up on the couch and took a nap. I've got a wonderful couch. It's not one of those big, overstuffed things. It's just your basic burgundy-colored couch with a double-bowed back. Anyway, I took a nap.

People say that in times of stress, the spirits of those who have passed come back to offer comfort. While I was sleeping, I dreamed that Brown Tabby was curled up like a meatloaf on my hip, his big burly body vibrating with a bone-deep purr. I reached over to pet him and could feel his soft, thick fur and his purr got louder.

Things are going to be okay. Poose came back to tell me so.
