I received e-mail from The Company last night asking me to complete a couple of the projects I was working on on a freelance basis. This is so rich that I need a glass of millk.

Sadly, the work doesn't involve the projects I most want to work on.
*sigh*

I have some thinking to do....

A done deal

The freelance thing
Thanks to everyone who provided input and support on the issue of freelancing for The Company. When it came right down to it, I decided that the good business choice to make was to do the work a) because it could put me in a good freelance situation with them down the road, b) because I know the project, it would take them weeks to find someone else to take it on and I'm neutral enough on it to be able to finish it without hard feelings, and c) because I ultimately realized that the negotiation would be no problem for me. Good lord, I've been negotiating deals exactly like this since I was 26. I did well, the deal is done, and I believe I got what I'm worth. Piece o' cake. I now have employment for the next two weeks.

Angel
Creepy. Icky. Ooooh, those fingers! ::shiver:: Great episode. Don'tcha just love to watch Spike suffer?

The Boyfriend rocks
Was at the Boyfriend's place tonight for dinner, Ed and Angel. Much to my dismay and delight, he presented me with some "You've Had a Rough Week" gifts, including the new Lion King DVD (YAAAY!), as well as DVDs of Red Dragon (the Hopkins version), The Sound of Music, and Return to Me. It's an embarrassment of riches, but I am hugely cheered, and now I have what to watch between writing chapters. He's a good'un, lemme tell ya!
