Post-Radcon wrap-up

Got back from Radcon about 3.5 hours ago. I had a very good weekend there, if quieter than my usual. I spoke on my assigned panels (and was particularly pleased with the panel on the endings of stories), was complimented a number of times on my skills as a moderator, attended parties but not very late, and didn't go to the dance. I also spent much less money than I often do at conventions. Best part of the weekend was that I spent high-quality time with a select group of people whose company delighted my heart. I am fortunate in my social circle; I am surrounded by brilliant, generous people.
I came home very tired, and with an alarming tickle in my throat that I hope--with all the strength left in me--doesn't become full-blown con crud. My roommate and I both remarked on how god-awfully dry the air in our room was, and how raw our throats were both mornings. I'm hoping that what I'm feeling is merely the result of said dry air. I'll be taking a full dose of Nyquil tonight toward the end of resting well and, I hope, booting whatever it is out of my system.
I also spent some time this weekend working on a story that has kicked my ass for years, and I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm hoping that (health willing) I'll be able to wrap it in a couple of days.
I admit that food was challenging for me this weekend. Friday and Saturday weren't too bad, but today was disastrous. If I'm feeling anything like well tomorrow, I will make a point to go walking to stem some of the potential fallout. We'll see how it goes.
