I keep forgetting. I have an Etsy store. It's not like I don't have a billion other things to attend to, but I find myself remembering this outlet. With Mother's Day coming, perhaps I ought to take an afternoon or two and beef up the stock. Would any of these ideas appeal to you as gift ideas? Or does no one have disposable income? Thoughts?

Speaking strictly for myself, I am more likely to buy several fun, inexpensive pieces of jewelry on Etsy than one or two more expensive pieces.

BTW, did I ever tell you how much I've enjoyed the earrings and choker I bought from you in December? I wear them all the time and everyone compliments me on them, especially the "Shalom" necklace.

I'm so glad to hear you're enjoying them! So often I sell something and then never hear from the customer again. Yay!

As for jewelry, make what you most enjoy making. I troll Etsy all the time for gifts for myself and others, you will work better if you are making what you enjoy.

Maybe it is time for you to devote yourself to your many arts. Can you afford that? Do you want to? How about moving in with your beloved? How about it? Forgive me if I am offering too much advice, I have this tendency to Momliness.

Also, re notecards: I have yet to try selling my photo notecards, but for the last two years I've donated a couple of sets to my church auction, and they've been popular items. I do mostly floral close-ups and coast/landscapes, both of which are pretty common on Etsy. I'd think some of your animal shots might make great photo cards, and they're probably more unusual, too.

I gotta say, there is a middle ground where you can be artistic and practical....

It isn't always one or the other. :)

I know there's a middle ground - but for folks like you and me who tend to be too practical and put off the dream till... yea, then - sometimes it comes down to renting out the place, grabbing the camera and backpacking across the world - with travel blogs, a travel book and pix to sell.

Even if that's not now - setting a time for X is important - or it's "next year in Jerusalem" Fiddler style..

I've found the gold spiral necklace (the one I wore Sat.) to be one of the most practical pieces of jewelry I own. Seriously, I wear it alot. I don't know how difficult it is to make, but I suspect you undercharge for it, and it might be well suited to a modeled photograph. I had no idea when I got it how useful it would be, but there it is.

Wine coasters from photos or selected portions of your photos. I love the ones we bought from Joyce, and as I recall, we gave those away as holiday gifts that year also. I believe you, too, have pics that are well suited to that sort of thing.
