Notes from the edge

Assored tidbits from scarlettina's world today:
I can't wait to see this.
I've been following Hugo-nominated author (and good friend) Jay Lake's StoryWords since I got back from the workshop: super-short fiction based on words sent to him by readers. Cool idea and a great exercise in language. This guy's got The Stuff.
If you're feeling like your writing needs a kick-start, check out Story Starters.
And don't forget that, come September, George R. R. Martin will be coming to the Seattle area for Foolscap. Here's your chance to meet the genius behind A Song of Fire and Ice, Wild Cards and Beauty and The Beast, one of the greatest pleasures I've ever enjoyed as a television viewer and a brazen romantic.
I'm lightheaded from too much caffiene and thinking about things that are a little too important to me to be considering while at the office. I'm surprised I don't sound as though I've been inhaling helium.
Pub trivia at the Irish Emigrant is on the docket for tonight. We haven't played in a while, and I could use something like this right now to ground me a little bit. I could float away on the stuff I've been thinking about since I got back from Lincoln City. Man, what's in the Oregon water, I ask you?
