[livejournal.com profile] grubbstreet and the Seattle PI report that Seattle's beloved Tuba Man is dead as a result of injuries received in a mugging. My last memory of him is playing "My Sharona" on request, and making me and [livejournal.com profile] ironymaiden just giggle like crazy (that's when I took this picture). I hope they prosecute the perps to the fullest extent of the law, the bastards. They've reduced the overall joy quotient in Seattle by a significant degree.

Mr. McMichael, you'll be truly missed.

That's horrible news. Ed was the best part of any visit to the Seattle Center.

It's just wrong. Really sad and wrong.

I'm so sorry. Buskers contribute so much to the feel of a place.

In Mountain View (CA), there's a guy who plays in good weather. He's not very good, but he's so much better than the alternative, and he always brings me joy.
