I didn't go to work today (for reasons I won't discuss here), and I'm glad I didn't. It was positively gorgeous out. Once I was done with the obligation that kept me away from the office, I took advantage of the cloudless blue sky and the late-spring-like temperatures to pack my bike into my car trunk and go riding at Green Lake for the first time. I always imagined that riding a trail around a lake would be a lovely way to spend an afternoon, and while I certainly enjoyed it, it was nothing like peaceful. Too many pedestrians on the trail walking in the bike lane; it was more like driving through traffic. ::sigh:: Still, I got sun, exercise and fresh air, three things I don't get nearly enough of, and that's a positive thing. I also took out my balcony chair, set it up and had some lovely quiet time out there with the kitties. Very pleasant indeed. Makes me believe that summer will come that much sooner. What a beautiful day!

Was sorely tempted to go biking myself today, but my back tire is rubbing the frame & the boy hasn't really made time to fix it yet. Ah, well. I'm sure the sun will come out again ... um, soon.
