Since folks have been asking, I wanted to post quickly about Merlin.
Merl has been on medication and a prescription diet since his issues began two weeks ago. He's eating with more enthusiasm than I think I've ever known him to, which is a goodness, given how skinny he's been. He's mostly walking normally. The new thing that's developed, however, is that when he sleeps, occasionally he twitches really dramatically. It's almost like watching a lickety-split grand mal seizure. Tonight he twitched so hard that he fell off the couch. We've got a vet appointment in another two weeks--a check in--but I may call the vet tomorrow to ask about this. I've seen him twitch in his sleep, but never this dramatically.
Watched "Gunner Palace" tonight on On Demand as part of my story research. It was a sobering experience. Also, full of good reference material. Anyone have any other good reference on the Iraq war and conditions there for our soldiers?
In other news, Senior Boss has left the team to join another group at Microsoft, leaving Junior Boss and me to manage the site. I've known about Senior's impending departure for almost 6 weeks. My intention, at the time I found out about it, was to pass my resume to her boss immediately. She told him of my interest. Well...immediately took 6 weeks to happen, but I finally got up my gumption, wrote a cover letter and sent the resume to her boss. I've spent all this time trying to screw up courage, trying to face the fear of applying for a job, the fear of rejection. I'm glad I did it. I know my resume is strong, and I think I wrote a good cover letter. We'll see.
