Birthday was mostly lovely. Had dinner at Crow with the usual suspects, bless'em all. Discovered to my dismay that day, however, that the new camera won't work with the old glass—which is a pain in the ass since I chose the new camera specifically because I'd been assured it would work with the old glass. Am reconsidering my purchase and thinking about exchanging it for my other frontrunner model. ::sigh::

Saw Order of the Phoenix yesterday and quite enjoyed it. May have to see it again; it zips along without a break and I feel as though either I missed a couple of things or said things were really left out, which is a little problematic. Still, more Gary Oldman is always a good thing. I wish-wish-wish we'd gotten more David Thewlis; I love him as Lupin—he's such a gentle, loving presence—and want more of him on screen. The actress who plays Luna Lovegood is perfect for the role. The climactic battle is gorgeous and terrifying. I may come back and do a proper review of the film here, but for the moment, this is what I've got to say: fun flick, worth seeing a second time.

After the movie, [livejournal.com profile] brumbjorn and I did a little geocaching around Ballard. We found several caches in the devastating 97-degree heat and I still can't figure out why we were mad enough to go tromping around in such weather. Still, it was good exercise. Next time, however, I'll have a water bottle and a hat with me; both would have made everything easier. Had dinner with [livejournal.com profile] crooked_hill about chorus stuff and to catch up a bit. Greek food on a hot day: not a bad thing at all.

Glad it was a good day.
And wow, that's hot anywhere but especially hot for Seattle.

96? In Seattle? Are you sure you didn't sleepwalk or something and end up in Nevada without realizing it?

Anyway, I'm glad you had a great day.

I also agree with you about Gary Oldman...I haven't seen the movie yet, but I love him.

In two months you'll wish it was 97 degrees.
