From the Associated Press...
Doug Marlette, the North Carolina-born cartoonist who won a Pulitzer Prize and created the popular strip "Kudzu," was killed in a car accident Tuesday morning in Mississippi, authorities said. He was 57.
Seems to me that Marlette was the first editorial cartoonist I really became aware of growing up. I wasn't a big reader of Doonesbury, but the Marlette cartoons that appeared in Newsday always caught my attention. It's a passage that's come too soon.
