scarlettina: (Kleenex and death)

I know my journal's been terribly exciting lately, what with sore throats, dizziness and so on. The excitement continues. I spent a good portion of the day trying to rest, trying to shake off the last of whatever illness has had me down the last few days. I got restless though and, as a result, have been dealing with an extended allergy attack tonight. I think it has mainly to do with my trying to move stuff out of the former office/guestroom (to be called "the small room" from here on) in preparation for painting and the raising of dust in the process. So far, I've moved the futon, some art, and two bookcases out of the small room. I've stowed some stuff in that room's closet. I've weeded out some books to head to the used bookstore. But I've still got a lot of work to do in there. That desk scares the hell out of me, but once it's done, I'll have only to take it apart and get it out of the house. Oh, wait...

Oh, and I've got one interview tomorrow and two on Friday.

And in between all this, I've started to reread Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, to be immediately followed by a reread of Half-Blood Prince in preparation for the release of Deathly Hallows. This was always the plan for late June/early July. To my delight, Keith Olberman recently speculated about how the series will end. He makes some pretty good points. And yes, I've already been told by several friends that these speculations aren't new . . . but they were new to me, since I haven't been following all the speculation on fan sites and in the media, so I enjoyed them. Anyway, it's all Potter all the time around here right now.

So that's what's new at Chez [livejournal.com profile] scarlettina. Oh, the glamor!

Sorry you're ill. I don't know what it is about summer colds, but they always seem more insulting than winter ones - possibly because one doesn't feel entirely justified in drinking cocoa and hiding in bed when it's so light outside. But I hope you get well in time for the interviews! I shall send virtual Vit C.

Smart ass.

It's just going to be a lot of work enptying and taking apart thedesk. And then I have to figure out what to do with the damn thing once I've gotten it out of the room.

I recommend thermite.

Really? that's your concern? Because I'd be a little concerned about getting down the stairs.

After that, well, there are several shops in my neighborhood that would probably like it.
