Phoned-in entry from the road

Lake Union is full of boats. I can see them huddling toward the middle of the lake and heading toward the canal: sail boats, large pleasure craft, cigarettes, row boats, kayaks and canoes. I've already seen one overrun and sunk by people looking for a quick way out. But the canal is jammed. People don't know how to navigate the damn thing. And I've just heard on the radio that the Ballard locks are overloaded.

Westlake Ave is weirdly empty. Spanky is meowing his head off. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea.

I heard a rumor that San Francisco is zombie-free for the moment. Wouldn't that be a kick, if large gay populations were what saved you? but you should head thataway, I think.

We're holding safe for the moment, here. The streets are quiet -- most of the violence seems to be downtown. Poor Yalies...

The trick is getting to I-5. I'm not sure that's going to work. I'll keep you apprised. There's still Tacoma, Olympia, Portland and all of southern Oregon to get through. God only know....
