Got home around 3:30ish. Returned a couple of phone calls (there will be a tax refund, though not as big as we first thought), fed and cuddled the kitties, read a bit and, most importantly, napped. It must be real life again; I'm worried about doing my required job hunting for the week.

Chorus retreat (at Seabeck Conference Center; click the photo gallery link to get a glimpse of the place) was good; we got in some excellent rehearsing. Cleaned up a couple of pieces that really needed it. Somehow—and perhaps this is because it wasn't all new to me this time—retreat didn't feel as extraordinary to me this year as it did last year. But Seabeck is still quite beautiful and restful. Wish I'd been able to soak in a little more of its remarkable peace. I didn't even get to spend any time sitting in the lovely rocking chairs on the porch of the main house, which I genuinely regret. Still, however, it was a delight to breathe in the rain-washed air, listen to the enthusiastic birdsong, admire the way the clouds settle in over the mountain peaks, and catch an eagle in flight along the canal. 'Tis 'nough, 'twill serve.

Yeah, this year's retreat had a much different feel from any of the five others I've attended. I'm not sure why. Less drama, no scandals, no hangovers; but the personal connections weren't as intense and we didn't get to enjoy the site as much. Still, yes, 'tis 'nough, 'twill serve.

Maybe next year I wont bring games. That way the drama can ensue?

No, no, no! I think that games were a great contribution and added a lot of fun to the weekend.

yeah... I suppose.

My big regret was not feeling 100% and sleeping instead of interacting for most of Sat.

I feel worse now though. :(

*sigh*

Nooo, the games were good, we don't need drama!
Though having an actual activity meant less drinking meant no puppy pile ... but that's okay, there'll be other chances. :)

Yes, so you owe us one. ;)

Nah, really I don't know, I think there are lots of reasons this year felt different. But still good.

It seemed like there was a lot more down time last year. I remember taking lots of walks (both solitary and in groups) and having more time during the day to socialize. On the other hand, the quality/quantity of rehersal time seemed much better this time around. But I still feel like I missed out on something.
