The Not-so-Good:
—The computer is still a prisoner of The Apple Store. I say we storm the place and force the denizens therein to fix the thing forthwith!
—Writing on my PDA is not the same as writing on my computer, and while it will have to do for the nonce, I may make a complete and unseemly spectacle of myself at The Apple Store when my machine is finally ready.
—My shoulders hurt and are a shade of orangey-pink not normally found in nature. My face is a similar though less aggressive hue. And apparently, even the part in my hair is sunburned. (See below under "The Good" for details).
—A week in and I still don't have access to all the servers I need to do my new job despite my taking an assertive stance with Helpdesk.

The Good
—Spent a terrific couple of days in Vancouver with KA and LdM being girls and attending the Vancouver Folk Music Festival at which I discovered some cool new music (including Le Vent du Nord—Quebecois folk music and lots of fun—and Fruit—a group from Australia who have quite effectively targeted the Indigo Girls fan in me). I also got a vicious sunburn (a result of constant exposure from about 11 Am to about 8 PM) despite the application of sunblock level 30.
—Spent Sunday evening with [livejournal.com profile] varina8, [livejournal.com profile] webcowgirl and [livejournal.com profile] shadowdaddy (who's not allowed to cut his hair) attending Shakespeare in the Park in Capitol Hill and enjoying a most excellent abridged version of MacBeth.

Owee! I did that once in high school - fell asleep at the lake, woke up feeling the first signs of a burn, and grabbed the nearest bottle of sunscreen, not realizing until later that I had grabbed my sun-worshiper brother's SPF 5. I couldn't leave the house for three days, because I was in too much pain to wear a bra. I now *never* go swimming without wearing a t-shirt over my swimsuit.
