Snowpocalypse 2: Stills from the opening
Thu, Dec. 18th, 2008 08:02 amHere they are: Pictures of Snowpocalypse 2. I'm listening to the news as I type. The West Seattle Bridge is closed. There's an 8 mile back up on I-5. 520 West is littered with accidents and there's snow accumulation on the Evergreen Point Bridge. In short, it's pretty awful out there.
Yes, it's only two inches but, don't forget--hills everywhere, and only two snowplows for 40 square miles of city.
You can't see much of the accumulation in this shot, but you can see the snowfall.
Merlin finds a warm place from which to watch the snow.
Schools all over the state are closed or opening late, which means a lot of parents are either staying home or scrambling for child care. The city reports that they've had crews out since 3 AM tending the roads, but it sounds as though it's only been marginally effective. And the city is asking residents to conserve power. I've already got my fleece on.
I'm trying to figure out whether or not I'll need to reschedule the appointment I had today with a new agency. With an appointment at 11, I'm going to wait until 10 to make a determination and, in the meanwhile, proceed as if it's on.
Welcome to winter...and job hunting.
