RadCon: Mid-convention update
Sat, Feb. 18th, 2006 11:18 pmThis'll be brief because I've got a dehydration headache that I'm trying to cure and I'm trying to finish up a new poem for tonight's "TaleBones Live" reading.
Lots of LJ folks here and what a good weekend it's been so far. (That doesn't count, of course, the room SNAFU, the con schedule that seems to have been built on a tesseract, or the ungodly cold.) But really, I'm having such a good time.
madrobins is really quite the finest roommate. The panels I've done so far ("Writing for Games and Gamers" and "Food in Writing") have been quite good. I attended a reading by Ken Scholes that was well worth the listening. Went and saw Kris and Dean do The Kris-and-Dean Show (for at least one of the highlights they discuss, go read Heinlein's Rules of Writing, which apply to all sorts of writing, not just science fiction), which gave me a kick in the ass I've been needing about getting my work back in the mail. I've purchased a book but resisted most other temptations. Still have to hit the art show.
Must go attend to the head and work on the poem now. Just wanted to say hi from Pasco....
PSFor a taste of the "Food in Writing" panel (aren't I clever?), just consider, if you will, the implications and assumptions inherent in the statement "For breakfast, he had toast and butter." Discuss.
