The Magic of eBay

Note: I'm not here to brag; I'm here to marvel. Really.
I'm floored. Last week's auctions just closed. The Frank Herbert short story collection, EYE, went for $249.00, and the Philip Jose Farmer short story collection, THE GRAND ADVENTURE, for $51.00. They've been sitting on my shelf, admired but basically ignored, for more than 10 years. Wow. I mean ... wow. I figured maybe the Herbert would go for about $100, no more. My limited edition Asimov went for about that last year. But I never expected either of these books to go for as much money as they did. Gee.
And just for good measure, one of the Heroclix figuresyou know, those little collectible pieces of plastic?went for more than $20.
I'm floored.
Or maybe I'm sugar crashing because I haven't had dinner yet. You decide.
