Rude awakening and a change of policy
Sat, Apr. 9th, 2005 08:16 amCompared to most LJ users, I've had a very liberal policy with regard to replies to my journal. In the wake of the "Passion of the Christ" spamming affair, I disallowed anonymous commenting or commenting by anyone not registered to LJ. Six months later, when I thought it might be safe, I opened the journal up again to anonymous users and unregistered readers mainly because I have friends who aren't registered to LJ who do read or occasionally respond. I did require that anonymous posts, however, would be screened so they'd come to me via e-mail first.
Up until this morning, that wasn't a problem.
This morning, however, I logged into my e-mail to discover a nasty remark from an anonymous poster. Thus endeth my liberal policies on Live Journal. If you don't have an account with LJ or you wish to reply anonymously, you can't respond to my journal.
To the anonymous poster, whoever you may be:
If you have a bone to pick with me, if you want to insult me, attempt to undermine my confidence or cast doubt on my professional abilities, you do it here, in the open, under your own name. If you can't face me as an adult then keep your infantile mouth shut and stay away from me and from my journal. Your stupidity is exceeded only by your cowardice.
