Mel Gibson's production, The Passion, has been struck by lightning not once but several times. I dunno about you, but that looks to me like a sign from God ....

I dunno, I think if I was Jim Caviezel I'd only take parts as bankers or racecar drivers for the next several decades....

This brings to mind a story in a humor anthology edited by H. Allen Smith.

It's about how vintage Hollywood (where Smith worked awhile, which is probably why he remembered the author and included it in the anthology) decides to make a film about the life of Jesus and God hears about it and decides to help. He puts a small amount of his Essence into the lead actor, who, pardon the pun, develops a small problem.

He doesn't register on film.

Too bad someone doesn't beat Mel to the punch and release it as a short on PBS...
