There is life on the Microsoft campus
Thu, Dec. 16th, 2004 01:01 pmI work on the RedWest campus at Microsoft, a little, lush island of greenery several blocks away from the main campus where MSN, among other properties, is based. It's a remarkable work environment in that it is richly landscaped with flowering shrubbery and an artificial creek that follows the contours of the campus until it culminates in a waterfall and pond. One of the perks of this place is that because it's so well-cared for, it attracts a limited amount of wildlife. During the summer we had mallard ducks hanging around the pond in the picture above.
Today, the weather being fairly nice, I took a lunchtime walk around the green. The gardeners were out trimming back bushes and cleaning up detritus. Along one of the walkways, one of the gardeners turned on a power saw. Out of the bushes scampered a little brown bunny, running across the walk and off into another bank of shrubs. The little guy just disappearedpoof!when I tried to follow his path. But there he was, and there he went.
It cheered me hugely.

And the tape went in the mail this morning.
