Fifteen Pounds
Tue, Mar. 8th, 2011 08:04 pmTonight when I weighed in at my Weight Watchers meeting, I learned that I'd lost another 1.6 pounds, for a total of 15 so far. This is a big deal to me, because I feel like it's real validation for all the effort I've been making.
Just to provide some perspective: I started my program on January 4, 2011. I've just completed my ninth week on the program. I've averaged 1.6 pounds lost per week, a number drawn down somewhat by the two weeks (week 3 and week 6) where I didn't lose, or gained a little bit. From my starting point, I had a total of 100 pounds to lose. That figure has been reduced to 85 (the average weight of a German shepherd or, to make the example appropriate to my context, the total weight of 8.5 cats--I'd name them, but then I wouldn't want to lose them). ( Beneath the cut: Long post analyzing what I'm doing and how I'm doing it and what I'm feeling, which may be triggery for folks with food issues )
So that's the scoop. I'm proud of my accomplishment. It feels big to me. I am awesome to have done this much, and I have to remind myself of this.
What I'm focusing on, though, is my next incremental step, which is getting to my 10% goal: 23 pounds. I'm hoping I can get there by my brother's wedding in mid-April. Forward we go!
