scarlettina: (Truth shall make you fret)
It's cold--24 degrees F, to be precise. It's sunny and clear. But it's freakin' cold.

Just because you meow, Sophie, does not mean I must be immediately attentive. Sometimes it just means you're spoiled and need to be ignored.

Apparently Senators Inhofe, Barrasso, and Rep. Wicker think it's good for America to travel to Copenhagen specifically to undermine the President of the United States. Some would call this bad form. Like, for example, me. I'd call it other things, too, but this is a family show.

Chanukah begins this Friday night. There will be candles. On Saturday, there may even be latkes.

Just because you speak English doesn't mean you can write fiction. I will continue to point this out. I may not be heard. It may be a lost cause, ultimately. But I will continue to point this out. I may even bang a shoe on a table.

It's cold. Did I mention that?

Last night, [livejournal.com profile] markbourne and [livejournal.com profile] e_bourne invited the usual suspects over for a walk around their West Seattle neighborhood to admire the holiday lights. It was exceedingly cold, and even two layers of gloves couldn't keep my poor fingers warm. My camera didn't like the cold much either, frankly. But there was singing ("Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow" even though I didn't want it to) and laughter and general cheerfulness.

The people in their area take the whole holiday light thing very seriously. We saw some really lovely, tasteful stuff. We also saw some really scary inflated snowmen large enough to eat us for lunch. I appreciate the whole "nothing succeeds like excess" philosophy; I do not, however, subscribe to it.

Anyway...

I took some pictures, which you can see under the cut. )

Afterwards, we retreated to the Bourne home for sipping chocolate (hot and thick as chocolate pudding and, oh, so tasty!) and yummy cookies. Lovely evening!
