And so the masses have descended upon Redmond. I spent early yesterday with [livejournal.com profile] puppetmaker40 and daughter at Seattle Center. We ascended the Space Needle, then spent some time at the Childrens' Museum. A lovely time was had by all.

Then it was off to Foolscap. My first panel of the weekend, about short-short fiction--writing and marketing--was a success. [livejournal.com profile] jackwilliambell, [livejournal.com profile] twilight2000 and Mark Ferrari, among others, were in attendance. There was silliness as well as actual work. Ferrari, as usual, was being a handful. It was a great deal of fun, and I felt like it was a great start to the weekend.

Ran into too many folks to note all at once, but [livejournal.com profile] davidlevine and [livejournal.com profile] kateyule were foremost among the notables, looking bright-eyed and ready for another convention weekend.

Shortly thereafter, BarCon began, and a group of us including Jack, of course, [livejournal.com profile] jaylake, [livejournal.com profile] calendula_witch, [livejournal.com profile] shellyrae, and several folks WANOLJ then headed to Thai Ginger for dinner. Much fun and far too much food later, we recessed back to the hotel for drinks and music.

All in all, I couldn't have asked for a better day. And now, off to Day 2....
