Lunch break: food, beading, weather

There is little so simple and pleasing as an egg salad sandwich.

I spent the morning working on a new necklace for posting on Etsy. Once it's done--more elaborate than anything I've done it a while--both it and the one I completed yesterday will be photographed and posted. They will be pricey but they are both worth it. While, in terms of material, they were not all that expensive, they take hours to make. I may take some time to make a couple of simpler things just to rest myself.

Today has been another freaky spring day: rain, sleet, snow, rain and, right now, mist turning back into rain. I threw a pressed log into the fire place and enjoyed its light, warmth and crackling for most of the morning. Though I had plans to go out today, I wimpified and decided to stay indoors. I miss the company I might have had, but that's okay. We'll see each other another time, and neither of us had to be cold or wet.

Back, now, to beading. Must make some tea first....

First Greek, now Hebrew!

"After This Life" has now been published in not one but two languages neither of which uses our alphabet. (Click through the image to see the page more clearly.) The story appears in the most recent issue of Mercury Magazine in Israel. At least I can sound out the Hebrew and translate some of it, if badly. I love how my name was transliterated. The two words beneath the title are my name. Transliterating my first name back to English, it would read "Giana." I like it!

The illustration is entertaining. The cover art of the magazine (which is not for my story) is gorgeous. Yay me!
