Two turkeys, a cheesecake, and a railroad game later...
Sat, Nov. 29th, 2008 08:30 amYes, I had two Thanksgivings this year: lunch feast with a crew of semi-usual suspects at Woodland Park Zoo, and dinner feast with unusual suspects at the home of
irrationalrobot and
wordknitter. ( Pictures beneath the cut )
I expect to post the whole Thanksgiving set (including zoo animals and more silliness) a little later today, and will post a link when they're uploaded.
Yesterday, I interrupted the Pringling (the Christmas decorating) at the home of
e_bourne and
markbourne to help them consume a small portion of the Cheesecake that Ate Milwaukee, the largest, scariest and yet exceptionally tastiest cheesecake I may ever have tasted. I did not finish the piece I was served but then neither did my hosts.
And last night, I helped warm
mikigarrison's new house in the company of most excellent folks. I got my butt kicked in a game of "Ticket to Ride" and had a perfectly wonderful time doing so.
In between that, I braved the Black Thursday crowds to purchase a set of flannel sheets I've been wanting. At half off, I couldn't say no, and the crowds at this one particular store were actually pretty average given they were having a six hour sale. My experience was interesting: I speculated to the Bournes that the store must pump something into the air to make you spend money, because I've never been so tempted to spend so much money. I stayed the course, however, and got out unscathed, having spent only the money I planned on spending, which wasn't a great deal--but was, in fact, a heckuva deal. I Am Strong!
There's more busy-ness today and tomorrow, so I'm off for the nonce. Happy Thanksgiving Leftovers!
