Esther arrives; Foolscap Programming
Tue, Sep. 23rd, 2008 04:26 pmEsther has arrived at Chez
scarlettina and we've completed our first day's roaming about Seattle. Today was "Neighborhoods Day," during which we toured the Fremont and Ballard neighborhoods. I showed her the local stuff that most tourists tend to skip. We had conveyor belt sushi at Blue C for lunch and cupcakes at Cupcake Royale for an afternoon snack. She was much enchanted with Theo Chocolates, the Ballard Locks and Archie McPhee's. The weather was perfect for walking tours; I'm hoping it will continue this way throughout the week.
In other news, I've received my programming for Foolscap. You'll find me on these panels this weekend:
Saturday
1:30-3pm Alder Creek: Shared World
4:30-6pm Lobby Lounger: Why SF & F?
8-9:30pm Elk River: Anthologies: Are they still Relevant?
Sunday
10-11am Elk River: Handicrafts 2200
Verdict's still out on whether or not I'm going to throw a party--unemployment, injured shoulder and all that. One way or another, however, I think that a good time will be had by all. Today was a good start to the week's festivities.
