Books, Lincoln, T-Mail, reading, writing....
Wed, Apr. 9th, 2008 10:56 pmI've been reading a book called Mr. Lincoln's T-Mails: How Abraham Lincoln Used the Telegraph to Win the Civil War by Tom Wheeler. It's been an interesting and educational experience.
( What the book's about, what I'm noticing as a result )
In other news, I got my taxes off to my poor, beleaguered accountant tonight. I put a story in the mail. I sent SFWA evidence of my two recent pro sales so that my membership will be changed from associate to active. I downloaded the new Peter Gabriel single, of which I'm overly enamored.
Tomorrow evening starts the social whirlwind that will be my weekend, with dinner with a coworker. Someday I'm going to remember that actually having a full day without plans is a genuine pleasure and I'll leave myself with more of them. For the moment, I resign myself to my hectic and overcommited schedule and remain thankful for the goodness it all signifies.
