singingnettle posted a poll asking how her friends manage their household papers and records. I've spent part of this morning cleaning out records that, as it turns out, are nearly ten years old. I got into the habit of keeping these things after my mom died and realized that no one taught me to do this, I just sort of did it. Now I'm wondering if I need to be keeping all these pounds of paper and if there's a a better way to manage it. Before the online bill-payers start singing the praises of such services, let me tell you that I'm investigating that option, though it makes my inner control freak a little nervous, given what I know about Web security and my own control issues. So, all that dispensed with, I give you my exercise in neurosis:
