Tonight's report
Sat, Dec. 22nd, 2007 10:40 pmHoliday shopping this AM--early. Still not done. What was I thinking?
Spent the afternoon unwinding, then trying to get things prepared for tomorrow--furniture moving into the big upstairs room--with marginal success. The upstairs carpet has been spot cleaned and vacuumed pretty seriously. The big easy chair and ottoman have also been cleaned up--it's like having new furniture! Sadly, I made almost no progress on the living room. Guess that's for tomorrow when I'm not as bone tired as I am right now. I only realized tonight that this whole move thing involves my having to disassemble and reassemble my stereo and video components. I mean, I knew it intellectually but the emotional reality of it makes me quail. And the more I think about putting the TV where I had settled on putting the TV, the less confident I am about it because it messes with the movement of light in the rooms.
Or maybe I'm just overthinking this.
And all the movement of dust has dried out my throat in a really uncomfortable way.

varina8's was lovely and intimate. Lovely, fascinating people all around, and I enjoyed myself hugely. Wish I could have stayed later (stayed until just after midnight as it was), but I was beat. Friday nights are hard.
Anyway, off to sleep. Much, much to do tomorrow....
