scarlettina: (Madness)
As noted elsewhere in this journal, the room switcheroo progresses, though slowly. I found myself ultimately dissatisfied with the Tomahawk/September Leaf color combination, mainly because the September Leaf was a rather flat buttery yellow, no dimension. For a few days I was all over the Blooming Marigold: delicious to my eye but incompatible with either of the two previously mentioned colors--and many others as well. That meant going back to the drawing board.

I hit Fred Meyer last night for more color swatches and a couple more sampler cans of Parker Paint. I came home with two colors, one called Millet and the other called Paris Evening. The latter is a tasty, dusky blue, the former a sort of a pale wheaty color. I put them both on the wall last night. In the light of morning, the Paris Evening is beautiful; I have a terrible crush on it; I want to rub my cheek against it, expecting it to feel like velvet. I just don't think it's the right color for my home. The Millet against the Tomahawk is quite remarkable. It may be the final color choice. I want to see how I feel about it after a couple of days, seeing as how I changed my mind about the formerly adored Tomahawk/September Leaf.

One way or another, a decision will be made by tomorrow evening, because on Saturday morning, I want to finish packing up the room, go buy some primer, and get started.
scarlettina: (Reality failure)
I had a rough night. I was Wise and Brave and did The Right Thing, but somehow, it leaves me feeling empty and tired and wanting to hug cats more than they have patience for. I could do with some cheering up. What's fun on the interwebs that you can share with me?

Hugs? Hugs would be good, too. Preferably in person at some point, and soon.
