Karaoke Friday
Sat, Jun. 23rd, 2007 12:36 amMet
miss_swamp,
livingdeadpan and
weahawk for karaoke this evening. I sang "Building a Mystery," "Angel from Montgomery," and "Fire." First time I've actually sung at a karaoke place in literally years. I had an absolute blast and received many kind words about my singing, most particularly about "Angel." (My apologies to
gaelfarce to whom I suspect I was a terrible disappointment on our one karaoke outing; I shall have to make it up to you, sir.) Only
miss_swamp didn't get up to sing, at least while I was there, about which I pouted, but
weahawk and
livingdeadpan took up the slack beautifully and rocked the house, both of 'em. An excellent night out.
And I shall note for the record, because evenings like this should never be without color, that I was hit on by a guy who called himself Earl the Pearl, who bore a slight physical resemblance to Huggy Bear. He had an odd gap in his teeth and sang Lionel Ritchie songs not half badly throughout the evening. Ah, life's rich pageantry!
