Atmospheric hissy fit
Sat, Feb. 4th, 2006 06:43 amAll day yesterday, I heard people talking about the fact that the Pacific Northwest was in for a major wind storm, which seems to happen about once a year. We don't get thunder storms the way the East Coast does, but when we get a wind storm it's dramatic . . . and scary. Well, last night, just as I tucked myself in, I heard the first definitive gust blow through the enormous fir tree outside my windows. Because my condo is, essentially, the attic of my building, I can probably hear this storm more clearly than anyone else in the building. The storm's still raging out there. The gusts woke me up with their roar and the clinkle of the ceramic wind chime that hangs on my balcony. The lights are blinking a bit. The kitties can't figure out what's going on but they seem to know that something's up. I can't sleep anymore. But really, that's all I want right now. I have a feeling I'm in for a nap later in the day.
PS: For those of you keeping score, I received my mammogram results in the mail yesterday: clean as a whistle.
