Interview: Whew!

Just came back from my 4.5 hours of interviewing at [insert large internet retailer here]. I think it went fairly well, but I really have no read on how things went objectively. I sent out thank you notes to everyone I spoke to for whom I had contact information, and requested contact info for those I didn't.

These 360-degree interview loops always leave me exhausted. I understand the reasons for them, but you're On for several hours straight without any let-up and you have to continue to make a great impression over and over and over again. Oy. That's a challenge for anyone. I just want to nap now.

So, it's done. Now it's in their hands. I'm told the "debriefing" about my meetings will be tomorrow so I should hear from their rep fairly quickly. In the meanwhile, I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I have another interview with another company tomorrow so I'll be putting away my Interview Clothes forthwith!

In other news: it's windy today. Wish I had enough energy to go fly my kite...but I want nothing more than to snooooze.

Thanks to everyone who wished me well on the interviews! I appreciate the good thoughts and will keep you apprised.

Observations
It's been so long since I wore rings (i.e., since leaving Microsoft) that today wearing them felt odd. Now, having worn them all day and removed them, I still feel as though I'm wearing them (phantom rings?) and my fingers feel oddly naked.

Merlin, these days, looks as if he's bored out of his little feline mind. I must play with the kitties more than I do. I'm not being the best Cat Mom I can be and God knows that, these days, I've got the time.

I seem to do my best writing first thing in the morning, before I turn on the TV for news or read my e-mail. Fresh brains produce my best work. This is learning I got last year but every now and then I must remind myself of it again.

Notes
Wore make-up and contacts today for the interview and left it all on for rehearsal. One of the women in the chorus asked me during our break if I had a date tonight; I said no and explained about the interview. "Well," she said, "we're all enjoying it." This pleased me.

It's time for me to admit that I have allergies. I had hellacious trouble breathing tonight at rehearsal without coughing if I breathed too deeply. I've been using my vaporizor the last week or so overnight, which has helped. Contrary patient that I am, I'm finally going to stop resisting the inevitable and try using the allergy meds my doctor gave me mumble weeks ago. I hate hacking the way I've been lately and it's got to stop.

A Question
Looking forward to Norwescon in a limited fashion. Mostly looking forward to the visiting with folks. Anyone gonna be around for dinner Friday night at the con? I have a panel from 5-6 PM but then I shall be at liberty.
