Haven't been posting much of substance lately. Things have been very busy around Chez Scarlettina and I expect that trend to continue. In short:
The job hunt continues with some interesting developments that I am loath to discuss until one of them solidifies somehow. But they're good.
Had a good, if far too brief, visit with MH yesterday afternoon. There's a friendship that's mended itself in ways I would never have expected.
Had a lovely evening with
exiledfromtribe last night. The beard stays, fella. And thanks for your kind help with the back issue.
Prompted by a chat I had with a relatively new friend this morning, I perused a very old friend's web site and followed one of his links to the site of another old friend with whom I haven't been in touch in a long, long time. That site had a telephone number for said old friend (PLoB, for those of you in the know) and we just spent a good half hour on the phone. Oh, how I've missed him. We've decided to try and keep in better touch. The discussion prompted some thoughts about Roads Not Taken, a subject I've tried to avoid a lot lately. There may yet, however, be a meditation here on that subject at some point.
Haven't heard a single thing from any editor with my work on submission in quite some time. Trying not to indulge in interpretation of turn-around times.
Other than that, well, there's simply too much catching up to do to ever so it adequately about the last couple of weeks. I'm sure I'll start posting in a significant way again at some point soon. In the meanwhile, that's the short version.
Enjoy the sunshine, Northwesterners. Stay warm, you people back east!
