Learn to play the bagpipes!
I don't know why, but it made me laugh.
Lessons we learn
A pretty package doesn't necessarily hold appealing contents. Once you know that, well, that's all you need to know. This time, it only took a lunch hour for me to figure that out.
This weekend
So much going on! It's Rosh Hashannah! It's Foolscap! People to do! Things to see! Waitaminnit…reverse that! Yes, it's been and will continue to be that kind of week. The wonderful madness begins tonight, with dinner at the home of
hgross, whose company (and table) is always a pleasure. Happy 5765l'shana tova!
Then Foolscap and houseguests! Much driving back and forth. Much running about in service of the con and sociability. Much fruitless hoping for any kind of rest whatsoever. I'm sure it'll be a goodness. ( Here's my programming, for those as is interested. )
Update: the computer
Still waiting for AppleCare to get me into the system. In the meanwhile, I've gone to the Apple site and found some things to try. Will give them a shot as time permits, but a big part of me really wants to leave the fixing to them. I feel, however, as though I've had a limb cut off and am using a clumsy prosthesis, and patience is not a virtue I am always able to muster.
So, all in all, it's a day. Should get better as it gets closer to sunset.
