If I were going to "run away and join the circus," instead I'd:
01. Move to Paris, visit museums, eat lots of amazing food, study painting and have a Torrid Affair with The Wrong Man.
02. Spend my days taking pictures with the best camera and equipment I could afford and become the next Annie Leibovitz or Ansel Adams.
03. Go on an archeological or paleontological dig in Africa or the Middle East.
04. Travel the world.
05. Live in someone's attic apartment and study acting.
06. Go to Space Camp.
07. Move to Nantucket (or wherever it is they have old-fashioned sailing ships) and learn about sailing.
08. Move back to New York.
09. Do cetacean research.
10. Become a travel writer.

I'm stuck

I have been online for the better part of today looking for work. We're talking hours here. And here's what I've concluded:

I'm overqualified.

I'm underqualified.

I'm not technical enough.

I'm too experienced.

I don't have enough experience.

I want too much money.

I'm not asking for enough money.

My experience is too much about fiction.

My experience, compellingly enough, is all about fiction.

My resume is too detailed.

My resume isn't detailed enough.
