Project update
  • No word count on The Project to speak of as yet today.
  • Project B rolls along, but the conference call was pushed until tomorrow. ::grumble::
  • Did a little work on the TEC newsletter last night; not enough, really.

    Angel
Unhappy with last night's "Angel" in that all the potential for humor that it had was completely ignored or handled clumsily by the writers. Once you've had a Whedon script (i.e., the season premier), the rest seem to pale. And the bad dialogue dubbing throughout the ep bugged the hell out of me. Still, Spike's set up for an interesting ride. That, I liked.

    Perchance to dream...
Had very weird dreams last night, one of which I've dubbed the "Windy's Red Museum" dream--ask me about it sometime, preferably over alcohol--and one of which was so upsetting that I must get in touch with the friend who was featured in it. We haven't spoken since the spring and I need to check in on him now. Really, really need to check in. I've only been getting his voicemail the last couple of months. Really need to get in touch.
  • Yea, verily...

I'm sure everyone's received this in e-mail at least once, but if you haven't, here's a tidbit to entertain you.

The following is from a Washington Post-style invitational contest that asks readers to submit "instructions" for something (anything) written in the style of a famous person. The winning entry was:

"The Hokey Pokey" (as written by W. Shakespeare)

O proud left foot, that ventures quick within
Then soon upon a backward journey lithe.
Anon, once more the gesture, then begin:
    Command sinistral pedestal to writhe.
Commence thou then the fervid Hokey-Poke,
A mad gyration, hips in wanton swirl.
To spin! A wilde release from Heaven's yoke.
Blessed dervish! Surely canst go, girl.
The Hoke, the poke -- banish now thy doubt
Verily, I say, 'tis what it's all about.

(Wish I had the author's name so I could offer them proper credit. Yea, verily, they deserve it.)

    Lovely Things II

While walking to through The Company parking lot tonight, I noticed things seemed remarkably bright for 8:30 PM. (Yup, worked late.) The sky was clear, the moon was full and bright, and Mars was still visible further north in the sky. When I got home, I knew I'd left the Venetian blinds open because the living room was so bright I didn't have to turn on the lights. The moonshine painted the whole room in a lovely silvery glow.
