At last, a productive day!

And it's all herself's fault. Last night, before Boyfriend and I went to P and K's place, herself and I had a long chat about writing and my blues and everything else. She made the quite useful suggestion that I get myself the hell out of the house to write! I spent a portion of this afternoon at the Still Life Cafe in Fremont doing exactly that. I had one of their huge-and-fabulous mochas, sat down with my laptop and wrote! I don't want to say the block is broken, but I'm beginning to feel as though I'm back in the groove and might even make my deadline, which would kind of rock (except, of course, that I still haven't received my contract yet, to which I say "Hmmm...").
One of Still Life's great features is that the music there is always good, and my musical horizons are always broadened when I go. I know I'm not the world's hippest chick when it comes to current stuff; Dave Matthews is about as exciting as I tend to get. The cafe, however, was playing Flaming Lips this afternoon, and I'm bound and determined to get me a fix as soon as I can. Most excellent stuff.
