I always enjoy reading your theater commentaries -- and this time, the timing is particularly relevant. I am presently in Ashland for the annual family pilgrimage to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and I will shortly have thoughts up on the five plays I've seen/am seeing this weekend. (College alumni tour, thus the highly concentrated nature of the experience.) Just now I am three of five shows in, and it's been...interesting, in some different ways than usual. I am very glad I defected from the group to catch the brand new stage adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time -- but my reaction to the production is sufficiently complex that I am not sure a blog/LJ post will do it justice; I am sorely tempted to see if I can pitch a proper review somewhere.
Tomorrow's agenda includes The Great Society, the 3.5-hour sequel to the Tony-winning All the Way, and winds up with an all-female staging of Two Gentlemen of Verona. Now there's a study in contrast....
