Scarlett Letters

I had to give up on the Parasol Protectorate after the third book, but I'm glad you're enjoying them. Libromancer was well done, but for urban fantasy Harry Connolly's Twenty Palaces series was outstanding: M. picked up the first one when I had it lying about, was equal parts horrified and squicked out, but couldn't quit reading. Unfortunately he did too good a job at it: sales figures dropped for each book and the series was cancelled. (Cue complaints by Charlie Stross, who had his copyedit on one of the Laundry books delayed because HE couldn't quit reading, either.)
