Notes for myself

Things I want to post about:
-- Rediscovering my smashed-penny habit
-- How we're taught to deal with product frustration
-- The difference between "for your information" and passive-aggressive sabotage

I can't wait to hear your thoughts on "for your information." I've found that it's never someone wanting to inform me for my own benefit, but rather to make themselves feel more important. Same goes for "Just so you know!"

GRRR...
Then again, I live in NYC, where passive aggression is a hobby for many folks.

Oh honey, I grew up in New York, and what I've learned is that in Seattle it's a blood sport. Trust me on this.

You're not wrong

And someone who opens with, "I'm just curious..." almost certainly isn't. And when they say, "I find it interesting, that such-and-such," has probably decided that they've figured it all out.

I thought of you last weekend when I made TWO smashed pennies! One is a pterodacytl, the other a T. Rex. Got 'em at Union Station in KC.

It's nice to be thought of. :-) And they're good looking pennies (http://www.pennycollector.com/Details.aspx?location=3213), too! As we say in the club, keep on smashing!

Also? Love the icon.

Wow, apparently I need to go back a lot more often! Who knew they had so many? Except you, I mean ;-)

PS: That icon is for the B-movie some friends and I are (occasionally) working on: Terror-Dactyl!

It's the curse of the serious hobbyist--we know things that boggle others, and make them wonder if we ought to, you know, get a life or something. :-) On the other hand, you're working on a movie called Terror-Dactyl!, so I don't feel so alone in my geekitude.

Geeks unite!
