Photos for a blue night

I'm blue. So it seems like nothing that I want will ever happen. I know I'm being myopic. It's just how I'm feeling tonight. I'll feel better tomorrow, I'm sure. But, for example, if my Green Man story (now on submission at one of your finer fantasy periodicals) ever sees print, you should know that the trees in these photographs were its inspiration. I hope someone buys that story. I really love it far more than I should.

Cages of roots:

Elbow, knee, and shoulder:

Shoulders and arms (this one was especially key):

Dear New Neighbor:

You seemed like a perfectly nice fellow when we met this afternoon. But if you plan on banging around and shaking the building all night long, my good opinion of you is going to be tarnished. Severely. You've made more noise in one evening than the previous owners did in the 6 years they were here.

Knock it off.

Those are great pictures of great tree(s). Where were they taken?

I love the motion and flow of wood. It's difficult to capture and I think you have. Yeah!

Thank you, Luke! Coming from you, that means a lot to me. I feel like that last one is a little too bright, even though I'm pretty sure I metered correctly. ::sigh:: I feel like I have so much to learn.

Those trees are in Volunteer Park between the Asian Art Museum and the Conservatory, but across the road. They've been my favorites in Seattle for years. They're monstrous and gorgeous and strange.

Just based on the pictures I want to read the story! So please let me know when it gets published :)

They are wonderful pictures!

Wow, those are great photos of incredible trees! The first thing I thought was, "There's someone living in there!"

I look forward to reading your story when it comes out.

Assuming someone buys it. ::sigh:: Fingers crossed!

I can see why you needed to write the story!

Good luck with the neighbor.
