The scary thing is...she really believes this

Last night, on The Big Idea, Ann Coulter decided to tell the world what she really thinks about Jews. Apparently, we need to be "perfected." In the Gospel According to Coulter, Christians don't have to obey the laws of the Torah or their Bible because they've got the fast track to heaven. (That's almost an exact quote.) What makes it worse is that, when she tries to explain herself she makes it even worse. (If you watch the first video above, it will directly lead into the second video.)

And the scary thing is, she doesn't see anything questionable, curious, or offensive about what she's saying. There sits Donny Deutsch, the host of the show, saying to her, "You want me to stop being Jewish so I can be 'perfected' and you think that's okay? You're an educated woman. How can you say that?" And she just doesn't get it. There's a total disconnect between what she says she believes and the realistic extrapolation of her belief.

I've always thought she was a bigot. This is just one more argument in favor of same. But the clips have to be seen to be believed. Bigotry in action, delivered rationally, straight-faced, from a blond in a hideous dress.

I would really like to know what she was getting at with the "practicing Jew" comment. I mean, I know nothing about the host there but y'know what? I cannot tell you of my Jewish friends who is or is not a "practicing" Jew. Fuck, what does that even mean? I know what it means, duh, but who decides if you're practicing? I mean, I would say you do, but obviously Coulter thinks she gets to make these decisions based on what? The fact that Deutsch isn't wearing a Star of David where she can see it? The fact that he hasn't mentioned going to synagogue in front of her? The fact that she hasn't been invited over for Shabbath? Would it help if he had a big yellow Star of David sewn onto his jacket?

And since when does Jerry Falwell saying someone gets to go to Heaven have anything to do with ... anything? Does she really think Jews care that Falwell says they get to go to heaven? Because if Falwell said I get to go to heaven I'd be looking for the ticket office for an exchange ASAP. *cringe*

[cuts catty comment on Coulter's nose]

I was going to say that about Falwell, too. Oh, so he decided that Jews get to go to heaven? Well, BULLY for Falwell.

It drives me crazy that people can make a good living at being nothing more than a skinny blonde republican loudmouth. I won't say that she's pretty, because I honestly don't think she is, but if other people didn't think she was she sure as hell wouldn't get the air time she does.
