I feel the need to chime in, but I have nothing better to add than has been stated. Except that I have similar issues with my dad about some things. This particular one he's come around on, because Mom and Dad's church has several gay families in it, and that slowly changed his mind. And that might be the only answer - the only way that an otherwise intelligent, otherwise kind-hearted person could have his or her mind changed. We can fight the repeal of the legislation, and hope that people being more comfortable being openly gay in society will mean that those who feel homosexuality is awful will slowly see that they were wrong.
