Poetry in the morning

Here's another piece from Taylor Mali (with a tip of the hat to [livejournal.com profile] sleightgirl for the link), this one about keys.

And this one here (which is not "What Teachers Make" but a different one on teaching) is for [livejournal.com profile] gaelfarce and [livejournal.com profile] twilight2000 and all the other teachers on my flist. I have got to see this man perform live.

In fact, generally speaking, I have got to get more spoken word poetry into my life.

It's not quite song, and it's not quite spoken word poetry but you might want to check out Meryn Cadell. It's one of those artists I have that fall into the "acquired taste" section. It's worth a try, but not for everyone. I'd recommend the CD Angel Food for Thought - I think it's the best, even though there are some other tracks that are fantastic on her other CD's. The Cat Carol is so beautiful, yet so sad - you can find it here http://www.catcarol.com/ for purchase.

Meryn's most popular work was The Sweater which you can listen (and watch) here via You Tube.

Oh, I'd definitely call that spoken word. She's great. I'll have to find more of her stuff.
