I also thought I would have children, but also refused to be a single parent.

Now I am a self-appointed aunt to my friends' kids (whether they know it or not) and do enjoy watching them grow and change.

I do love my furbabies too.

I realized in my teens I did not feel close to my parents (the reasons for this are many) and try as I did to change things, I was unable to do so. Now I am working on accepting things the way they are, which is still a huge struggle.

Days celebrating parents are definitely a mixed bag for me.
